Keri Smith Creativity Books: Mess

Hello everyone! I hope you’re doing fine. πŸ™‚

I just wanted to share with you a book that I’m actually having fun with. πŸ™‚

It is Keri Smith’s Mess. πŸ˜€

I found this book 2 or 3 years ago from the bookshelves of Fully Booked. It is a fun book because it helps you to be creative, encourages you not to be afraid of committing any mistakes and will make you believe that every accident is beautiful and colourful. πŸ™‚

This book gives only 3 rules. These are the rules to keep in mind when you are to buy or to do the tasks of this book:

  1. Do not try to make something beautiful.
  2. Do not think too much. (There’s no “right or wrong.”
  3. Continue under all circumstances.

The rules and tasks are open to each person’s interpretation. πŸ™‚

Here are some of my recent activities from this book:

Cutting circles from magazines. πŸ™‚ I like the irregularity of the circles. πŸ™‚ They look so cute. πŸ™‚

And finally, messing up the cover of this book! This was the very, very fun part! πŸ˜€

This book has helped me a lot to loosen out. I am the kind of person who really follows instructions to the letter, I colour inside the lines, and I never wanted to make a mistake or to get stained. But this book has just told me to do the opposite! At first, I thought the instructions were rebellious and ridiculous. But after trying it, it really helped me to be more creative and to believe that sometimes, in order for us to be creative, we should not be afraid to commit mistakes. πŸ™‚
